Simon Foster, Priest-In-ChargeSimon Foster, Priest-in-Charge, St. John's of Lattingtown, Locust Valley, was ordained in 1992 serving in 4 churches one of which was one of the fastest growing in a UK Diocese. Influenced by the Tractarian worker priest movement in England, his approach is down to earth and evangelistic. He has always seen his ministry to be that of Community Worker Priest seeking to build and grow the Church in the community in which it is set. He has been a Conference Speaker and appointed Diocesan Urban Officer speaking to vestries and congregations about opportunities to build God's Church and Kingdom. His spirituality is progressive, radical and outward looking and rooted in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and participation in the Eucharist. He has worked in very poor and very wealthy parishes as well as those in between. Spiritual growth and numerical growth are seen by Simon as both crucial and what we are called to. |
